A Story of Exceeded Expectations

January 2, 2009

I was in an off-roading accident during the summer of 1988 that caused some major damage to my neck. I went to doctors, specialists, and chiropractors for approximately 9 months and nothing seemed to help the condition. Over the last twenty years I have learned how to deal with the pain and stopped with any treatments. Anyhow, I met
Dr. Krohse at Aspen Athletic and my wife encouraged me to go see him. Right away I noticed improved range of movement after my first few initial treatments with Dr. Krohse. I have also learned that I do not need to live with the pain. I am not 100% pain free but I do feel "normal" again. Thank you Dr. Krohse!!

(To someone considering trying chiropractic care with Dr. Krohse I'd say) Please consider seeing Dr. Krohse as he is an excellent chiropractor and a nice young man! Dr. Krohse turned me from a skeptic to a believer!

"Basic Support" Nutrition Protocol Sample Month

Your body has an amazing ability to heal and maintain itself. However, it needs the right building blocks available to perform those functions optimally. At
Compass Chiropractic, we recommend and personally follow the "Basic Support" nutrition protocol below.

Basic Support: Most people would benefit from increased intake of green, leafy vegetables, decreased consumption of processed foods, and increased pure water intake. Ask for a handout on the Mediterranean Diet, a proven long-term health supporting diet. Additionally, we recommend:

• Catalyn – Whole food "multivitamin" to supply essential nutrients that are easily absorbed into your body (3/d)

• Fish Oils – Natural, nutrient rich anti-inflammatory substance. Carlson's is regarded as the best. (1000mg/d)

During the month of January, we will have samples of our recommended whole food multivitamin, Catalyn, by Standard Process as well as Carlson Lab's Omega 3's available to try. You'll even receive a complimentary bottle of Ice Mountain Water or one of the delicious Aquafina Flavor Splash waters for sampling them.

Learn more about why Whole Food Supplements are so important at Standard Process' website.

Condition of the Month - Whiplash

Whiplash, injury resulting from a sudden jerking of the head and neck, is a condition commonly treated at
Compass Chiropractic. Often people experience symptoms resulting from an untreated or inadequately treated whiplash incident years after the injury took place. A combination of specific adjustments and Active Release Techniques is frequently able to greatly improve or resolve chronic symptoms of neck tightness, pain, headaches, and shoulder/arm symptoms resulting from a past whiplash injury. Additionally, specific exercises can be recommended to improve the stability of the neck.

Car accidents commonly cause whiplash. It's important that you know what to do in case of an accident, and we have available pamphlets for your glovebox or purse with specific instructions. Pick one up on your next visit or print one off our website - What to do in Case of A Car Accident Pamphlet. If you have been in an accident within the last two years and are still experiencing related symptoms, your care may be covered by the responsible car insurance. Call
Compass Chiropractic (515) 309-1217 and we will work with you to find out what your coverage is.

If you have been in a recent car accident, we recommend you schedule a thorough examination with Dr. Krohse as soon as possible so that he can form a plan to return your body to normal function as well as fully document the extent of injury resulting from the accident.

Invitation to the West End BNI Visitors Day

Are you in a profession where referrals are the best way to grow your business? Do you know someone who is? Please read over this and pass it on to anyone you know who is interested in growing their business this year!

Could 30+ influential business owners and professionals actively promoting and using your services impact your success?

The West End Business Network International (BNI) chapter offers that astounding opportunity. The chapter is growing with members from top-notch businesses in the community excited to work as a sales team for each other. However, we are missing representatives from some of the most common professions found in BNI chapters. We would love to show you what the West End BNI chapter can offer you at our upcoming Visitors Day!

Join us for the West End BNI Visitors Day!

When: Thursday, January 22
Time: 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM
Where: Connxions – 3901 NW 121st Street - Urbandale, IA 50322
(Just west of the Douglas exit at I80 near the Maverick Grill)

Attending this meeting will give you the opportunity to introduce yourself and your business to 50+ area professionals and business owners. Bring at least 70 cards.

Here's how a BNI chapter works:

1. When trust and confidence in a member's services have been established, BNI members use the member's services when possible.

2. BNI members learn about each others' business specialties and ideal clients, so that they can refer business to each other when possible. It's like having a sales force of 30+ influential people working for you.

One unique trait of a BNI chapter is that only one representative from each profession is allowed to join each chapter. We are looking for ethical, professional members excited work as a team to see other members' businesses grow along with their own.

Mark your calendar to attend the Visitors Day and don't forget to bring at least 70 business cards! Please let me know if you'll be able to attend by phone or email.

Personally, I can share that my membership in the West End BNI Chapter has been the most effective marketing I've done all year. Additionally, the members of the chapter have been sources of inspiration and advice that have kept Compass Chiropractic on track and growing. My favorite part of the West End BNI Chapter is the team atmosphere we've created. I am more excited to hear about other members' successes and growth than I am to share my own. -
David Krohse
